Essential oils

First of all, here are a few warnings because essential oils have to be used with precaution (better safe than sorry).

You should avoid EO during pregnancy or breastfeeding. EO should be avoided with children who are less than 3 years old without a physician’s advice.
Be also careful in case of epilepsy or hypertension.

In any case, get informed before using EO because they can be dangerous if not used right.

Do not use them plain without medical advice.

EO are not hydro-soluble (they don’t mix with water).
If you want to use them with water, use imperatively some dispersant!

Some EO are photosensitive (they react badly when exposed to the sun). These EO are often the ones issued from citrus fruits. Some others are skin irritant. They are mostly EO with phenols and with aldehydes.

In case of EO projection in the eyes or mucous membrane, do not rinse with water! Use a vegetable oil.

Use a quality EO showing the H.E.B.B.D. = essential oil botanically and bio-chemically defined.
It has to be chemo typed, that is to say that it shows the three following elements: precise botanical species + chemo-type or chemical race + part of the plant used.

Always trust the botanical name (written in Latin) and not the common name. Different varieties of the same plant can have different effects!

Since we are not experts in this matter, we propose hereafter some EO recommended by Aroma-Zone.

Dosage:
For 50ml of vegetable oil > 1 ml (20 drops) to 3 ml (60 drops) of EO.

For 250 ml of shampoo > 1 ml to 3 ml of EO. It is preferable to use a neutral base in order to avoid certain reactions with other ingredients from standard shampoos (you never know what can happen).
